About Davis-Bacon Wage Determinations

A wage determination (WD) is an official document issued by the Department of Labor specifying the minimum wage rates and fringe benefits that must be paid to workers on federally funded construction projects in a specific geographic area. WDs are issued by county and construction type.

Federal law requires contractors to pay no less than the prevailing wage listed in the applicable wage determination for the project location. Failure to comply can result in contract termination, debarment, and back-pay liability.
